Dear Constable Andrew

I’m writing to say thank you for coming to Glenbrae school and talking to the year 7 & 8 students.

I found it really interesting when you talked about your life and what you had to do to become a police officer. I learnt that I should think about what I want to be when I am young and work towards achieving this. I  think you inspired a lot of people in the class when you were talking to us.

Is it fun being a police officer?
How dangerous is your job?
Was it your dream to be a police officer?

I really appreciate you giving up your time to us. It was a privilege having you at our school.

Dear Mr Tamati Parker

I am Alex and I am a year 8 student at Glenbrae school. I am writing to say thank you for coming to our school and talking to us about the construction business.

It was interesting learning about how you became a Quantity Surveyor. It was even more interesting when you were talking about how buildings are made and how long you had to study at university. When you were talking to us you inspired our class. When I’m older I want to become a builder.

I really appreciated you giving up your time to us. It was a privilege having you at our school.

Yours sincerely

10 September 2014

Dear Mrs Tofa

I am writing to say thank you for speaking to us about how you became a teacher.

It was interesting to  learn that your Dad had to sell his business so your family could come to New Zealand and live a better life, and how you had to go to a new school and meet new friends.

I learnt that your Dad went back to Samoa and started his business up again. I also learnt that it must have been hard for you to grow up when your Dad was in Samoa and you were in New Zealand.

Did you want to come to New Zealand?
Was it your dream to become a teacher?

Yours sincerely

Dear Mrs Ripata

I am writing this letter to say thank you for talking to us about how you became a teacher and supported your family when they were struggling.

I learnt that your family supported you when you said you were going to become a teacher. I also learnt that your family's support helped you become a teacher. It was interesting to find out that you went to university in Fiji.

Was it your dream to become a teacher?
How did you feel when you graduated with a teacher’s degree?

Thanks once again for giving up your time to talk to us about a career in teaching.

Yours sincerely
